Early Childhood Care and Education Year 2 is a 10-credit part-time program in a blended learning delivery format, with some course components and classes taking place face-to-face and others delivered online. Each course is offered in the evening or on weekends, and there are no courses offered in the summer months.

Applicants must have obtained their Early Childhood Assistant certificate within the past 10 years. Current work experience in the Early Childhood Care and Education field will be considered an asset.    

The Early Childhood Care and Education program is grounded in a theoretical understanding of early childhood development. You will learn how to design and implement a curriculum that inspires young minds, helps children develop socially, emotionally, and physically, and promotes inclusiveness. You will discover how much work goes into creating child’s play—and experience the joy that comes with it! 

Please note that the following documents will be requested prior to clinical and practicum courses: 

• Current Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) Certificate 
• Criminal Record Check. Vulnerable Sector Check. If a Criminal Record Check or Vulnerable Sector Check indicates a record exists, the student's ability to complete the program may be affected. 
• Emergency First Aid and CPR
