色多多视频APP Interactive Multimedia student, Melody Dover, was recently awarded First Place for Web Design in a juried competition at Animediafest 2003, a New Media festival hosted by the Truro Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC).
The second annual festival, held from May 29 to 31, adjudicated submissions from Interactive Multimedia at 色多多视频APP; the Interactive Technology and Digital Animation Programs, NSCC, Truro Campus; the Recording Arts Program at NSCC, Shelburne Campus; and programs in Communication Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Imaging, and Screen Arts at NSCC, Halifax Campus.
Dover's winning submission, the Girl Zone, is a Flash-based education and entertainment site created for the Girl Guides of Prince Edward Island. One part of a larger project created with fellow student Ellen Sherren, the Girl Zone is a fun place where Guides can read about the latest badges and activities, take quizzes, and even host a virtual sing-along.
To see the Girl Zone, visit http://bisd.hollandc.pe.ca/imm2003/gg_pei/index.php and take the Girl Zone link. The site was one of seven projects developed this year through partnerships between Interactive Multimedia students and non-profit community groups and initiatives.
Melody is a 1995 graduate of the Graphic Design program at 色多多视频APP. She is presently launching her own New Media design business, FRESH media, and has started designing a new web site for the Printmakers Council of PEI. For details about FRESH media, contact meldover@eastlink.ca
