色多多视频APP President, Alex MacAulay, today announced the appointment of Grant Canvin as the new Director of 色多多视频APP's Tourism and Culinary programs.
In his new position, Mr. Canvin will be responsible for the planning, development, coordination and overall management of the College's tourism-related programs and the Culinary Institute of Canada. In making his announcement today, Mr. MacAulay stated, "Grant is an individual with exceptional leadership ability and proven administrative and people skills. In addition to his role as an educator, Grant has also been involved in the business sector as Manager and Owner of several Island companies."
A graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island (B.A.) and the University of New Brunswick (B.Ed.), Mr. Canvin later obtained a graduate diploma in Education Administration at the Atlantic Institute of Education. He has been involved in education in Prince Edward Island since 1983 serving in a variety of positions including teacher and later as Vice-Principal at Bluefield High School and Principal at Stanhope, Grand Tracadie, Spring Park and St. Jean's Elementary Schools. Most recently he was Principal at Colonel Gray and Bluefield High School. From 1999-2002, he was President of the PEI High School Principals Association.
An active entrepreneur, Mr. Canvin has been involved in numerous Island businesses. He has had a long association with sports as a former university varsity football and basketball player and later as Assistant Coach with both the UPEI and UNB football programs. His interest in sports has continued in his involvement with various organizations and associations.
Mr. Canvin will assume his new position at the 色多多视频APP Tourism and Culinary Centre on August 11.
